The Crooked House

The main subject of the play is motherhood, considered in various aspects: wanted, unwanted, toxic, impossible. Two estranged sisters meet in their family home following the death of their mother. Klara, who has been living abroad, cannot (or doesn't want to?) have children. She has suffered a lot at the hands of her strict and domineering mother. The younger sister is pregnant and wants to devote her life to raising her child. The women are accompanied by their life partners, but the lingering presence of their mother,and the memories she evokes affect their relations with the men as well. The play was shot as a continuous 70-minute-long scene.
