The eighth edition of the New Horizons Studio+ will take place 5-8 August during the 17th T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival (3-13 August 2017).
New Horizons Studio+, organized by the New Horizons Association and Creative Europe Desk Poland, involves four days of workshops and lectures on various aspects related to the promotion and development of projects. Its main task is to provide young professionals with knowledge about the international film market, while also helping them plan their career paths both in Poland and abroad.
Starting this year, New Horizons Studio+ will have a new format: it is now intended for producer-director pairs who are developing their first or second feature film. Having a project at the development stage is a necessary prerequisite for participation.
This year's New Horizons Studio+ will focus on key topics related to communication and promoting both projects and filmmakers. How should you talk about your project? What tools should you use, and how can you shape communication about your film at different stages of production? What is the aim of international promotion and distribution? Is it still possible to surprise the target audience? When should you start, and what is the best way to build up interest in your film? How can you talk about yourself with the media and the film industry?
Participants will have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of foreign film markets, establish new industry contacts, and further develop their projects. The program is also intended to help raise awareness of a project's potential and of the director and producer's shared and individual professional goals.
The 20 participants of the eighth edition will include 10 individuals from Poland (five director-producer pairs) selected from among applicants, as well as 10 individuals from abroad recommended by event partners.
Applications from Polish participants will be accepted from 25 April through 9 June 2017.
