“Mihály Víg is someone who for the past 30 years has played a very important role in my life. Mihály deeply feels and understands the world that surrounds him, while molding it with incredible precision and sensuality in his performances. His concerts embrace freedom – the man on the stage is unshackled and filled with zest for life.”

BALATON

Balaton is a band that was created in 1979 by Mihály Víg and Károly Hunyadi. They performed their first concert in 1980 at a plaza inside a sanitarium along with the URH band. In 1982 Mihály became the lead of another important group called Trabant. Their collaboration went on for a few years. Since 1984, while constantly changing up the band roster (to include important figures of the Hungarian underground), they kept performing a specific set of melancholic, rock’n’roll variations of chansons.

After a joint tour with Európa Kiadó in 1986–87, Balaton was put on hold. The group was reactivated in 1991. A year later, they've published a cassette with archived concert performances. The first studio recording called “The center of light in a gate of darkness” hit store shelves in 1996.

Since then, the band keeps performing on a regular basis while still changing its roster. Their last album was published in spring of 2019.

Balaton's concert in Wrocław will be performed by:

Mihály Víg – guitar, keyboards, singing

Krisztian Keszei – guitar

Zsombor Dudás – drums, singing

Gábor Horváth – bass guitar
